The Very Us Artists
BIOGRAPHY
Founding member John LaSala participated in RPM in 2007. The push to do an entire album was certainly a challenge (especially for one who loves to perfect and tweak everything!) but it was very rewarding. This got him to thinking that if he could squeeze out an entire album in a month, a bunch of people could probably pool their creative juices together and put out a quality album at least every few months or so. He had contributed on several of Sidedown.com's irregular projects throughout the previous year and really began to think about the networking possibilities of cross-pollinating different people’s styles and fanbases. After some heavy-duty brainstorming sessions with other founding members Chris Torgersen and Kate Baldwin, they quickly realized that there was something very unique and worthwhile here.
A few months later The Very Us Artists was born!

Roughly Produced Masterpieces(2008)
Very Us Artist albums are always theme-based, but for RPM '08, we kept it basic. The only other criteria for this very loosely-themed album was as follows: All the songs were to be titled with replacement bacronyms (a.k.a. reverse acronyms) for R.P.M.—that is to say, feasible explanations as to what RPM stands for. But in the end, this album was made purely for the fun and exercise of it. We hope you enjoy the terrifically eclectic fruits of the February '08 harvest.
A Demonstration of Songs of the Sun(2009)
This is a demonstration of the forthcoming Very Us Artists album, Songs of the Sun. This version of the album is in a rough mix stage, with some of the lyrics in need of being rewritten, singing to be re-sung, and even new songs to be added. But this is where the album was by the end of February 2009.
The process for creating this album so far went like this: I (John LaSala) asked musicians to send me music that could conceivably be turned into songs, I then recorded the vocals and wrote lyrics telling a story, taking inspiration from the music itself. These are the musicians who composed the music for this album:
Nick P
Joshua Wentz
Kavin.'s Acoustic Church
michL bridge
Sister Savage
Michelangelo
Bilian
with words and vocals by John LaSala
